Although I have aspirations to be on camera and or make a living in “show business”, i have very little desire to be famous. Ricky Gervais sums up my feelings on fame perfectly:
I’ve always been fascinated by the subject of fame. Probably because I’ve never really understood it. Or rather, I’ve never really understood why people would put fame above all else. And it seems to be getting worse. A recent university survey asked a sample of ten-year-olds what they wanted to be when they grew up. They answered “famous.” Just famous.
It doesn’t make sense to me as all i want to do is what i love. I have no desire to get hassled walking down the street, nor do i have an ego that allows me to think that i have the talent or deserve to be looked at as famous. I want to do my thing and get respect. That’s all i want.

I was reading an article about Fame that Ricky Gervais tweeted and stumbled across these paragraphs which genuinely surprised me by how much it sounds like me when i was younger. And I’m not saying this in a bragging kind of way…

I used to be the laziest, least ambitious person I knew. Well, lazy in terms of work. Career success, if you will. I had artistic ambition, I guess, but being a working-class Brit I believed it was better to never try than to try, and run the risk of failing. Americans are brought up to believe they can be the president of the United States. British kids are told, “Don’t be stupid. It won’t happen for you.”

I started late, sure. But it really is never too late. Now I seize the day. And I love that day much, much more. I’m a workaholic. But as Winston Churchill said, “If you find a job you really love, you’ll never work again.”

I NEVER had to try in school, i would always be the stoner at the back of the advanced class getting straight A’s whilst sleeping thru most lectures. Meanwhile the “preppies” would be trying their hardest and they would have to watch me, with the reddest eyes possible, look at the highest score on the posted list and smile.

Now i find myself bored a lot. Time to start trying my hardest at stuff. Maybe i CAN be Ricky Gervais.

To their credit they asked me to start rolling. Things didn’t go smoothly at first, mainly @althatisbig getting frustrated with Jimbo. As evidenced here:

But out they went without a script in the world. If ever there was a chance to “Eastwood” this thing it was well, not today. You see “Eastwooding” a scene, as we refer to it consists of doing it in one take. Now, don’t misunderstand me as I have absolutely no idea how many takes Clint Eastwood needs to do a scene. I assume it’s more than one or he would have been in at least 80 movies by now…nevermind. I digress, today was not proving to be a genius improv session as of yet.

No, on this night there would be no Eastwooding, there would be very little genius and least of all there would not yet be a Buhies 5. So all that footage will go in the vault, and more importantly I can feel like the glue that holds Buhies together since technically there hasn’t been an episode without me. Lol

Blinkered has been the coolest thing that I’ve ever been apart of. I started acting years before in little skits and bad parody trailers I made with friends with my grandmothers digital camera. When Joel (Comeuppence) said he wanted to do a T.V. Show for his website I was ready right away. Don’t get me wrong, I had no material at all. I was mentally ready to be apart of a cast of close friends that you see on sitcom series finales. –but of course to have an ending you must first have a beginning.

THIS IS WHAT PASSES FOR CUSTOMER SERVICE NOWADAYS, and i am aware of the irony in saying “customer service” when i’m complaining about a site that lets me download torrents.  This is unacceptable.  Idk what to do in my defense but if ANY of you agree please comment and or RT.

UPDATE #1: I was contacted again and told that i was a liar.  I was then given a list of my past transgressions on the site.  I DID have 2 warnings, so that must make it “habitual” right?  Recent warning on 3/18/2011, the OTHER… JULY 2006!  YEAH, that’s habitual.  I also have a tobacco ‘habit’, i have one every 5 years…(sarcasm)

I wasn’t “lying” so much as having a life outside this site and not remembering a warning from 5 years ago.

You can make it out like i am some detriment to your site, but that is far from the case.

I have already found PLENTY of suitable replacement sites where the moderators know how to be civilized and not embellish the definition of the word “habitual”.

This could have been solved with one reply “u need to get your ratio back up and can do so by blah blah blah”

FYI, go ahead and google “pwtorrents”.  The WHOLE conversation (3rd in search results) is out there for people looking for your site to find.  I am sure it makes no difference in how u will correspond with people in the future, but unfortunately there are no other ways to get justice in the internet age.  If even one person decides not to use your site then i feel justice has been served.  Enjoy not getting to retort as i will be canceling my account after sending this.

You and your “moderators” should be ashamed of yourselves and the way u speak to people.

Is Jimbo a member of Fortune?

Filmed yesterday with Kevin, Big Al, Mark & Jimbo.  It was Kevin’s Birthday so I was happy that he would stay after work to film.  He only had about 15-20 minutes so our scenes had to be preplanned and quickly executed.  We ended up deciding on 4 scenes that we will build an episode around.

Got pissed at Jimbo for continually coming into a scene when there was no reason to.  We had the scene ending with “door slams in billy’s face” and Jimbo kept going back outside over and over.  How can a scene with a door shutting be effective if the door keeps opening?  EXACTLY.  Anyways, that little annoyance aside, the filming went ok at best.  We need to figure out how to relax when we film.  Big Al gets particularly anxious with dialogue and usually jumps right to the end.  Didn’t happen this time as we ended up in some sort of verbal holding pattern and just treaded water without any reasonable end in sight.

It was the 2 year anniversary of the death of my Mother-in-Law yesterday.  My wife was sad.  I don’t blame her, I have no way of knowing how she feels as both my parents are still alive.  But I feel in hindsight that I should have tried to be more compassionate in comforting her.

I tend to have early morning regret.  I wake up and suddenly feel like I see the previous night more clearly and I always feel like I could or should have done something different.  This only seems to happen on weekdays.  On weekends I sleep poorly and just don’t have the same regrets.  I don’t get it.

Gonna try and be more honest here and post more frequently.  Hopefully no one will even find this blog and I can just use it as a journal.  Big Al is calling…hold.  Nothing important.

I have a hard time NOT being an asshole when I get annoyed.  Shocking, I know.
